#118 Learn How to be a Clown
Nina was in elementary school when she took a summer “Clown Class”. At the end of the class, the kids put on a performance for their parents who thought it was “The Greatest Show on Earth!”
#098 Go camping
Nina’s first time camping was at Colvig Silver Camp in Durango Colorado. She spent two weeks there the summer that she was eight. Our family are not campers so she was definitely a city-slicker. She learned everything she knew about camping.
#080 Sleep under the stars
She slept under the stars many times during her life: camp in Colorado, with her friends on a road trip in New York and California. Who knows? There may be more that we don’t know about.
Any of her friends have any specific memories you’d like to share?
#052 Send a message in a bottle
Romantic, very cool and not of this century, right? That’s what Nina thought. You’re probably wondering how this got onto the list. Well… Nina (center) and one of her best friends (Karen—second on the left) were selected in 2007 to participate among an international group of students to visit the Artic and build awareness for the International Polar Year with the organization Students on Ice. The ice breaker crew was filled with scientists, photographers, naturalists, and artists. They were learning about the ocean currents and one of their activities was to put a message in a bottle. I wish I knew the message she sent. Check out the video below from her trip. You’ll feel like you are there!
