A list item that is “as American as apple pie” – like #283 “Visit the Liberty Bell”
My mom took the whole family: daughters, spouses, and kids to Alaska for her 75th birthday. We had a blast. One of the coolest things we did was zip lining. Yeah, even Colleen, Nina’s mom, gave it a try and lived to tell the tale. You can see by these pictures that the cables are at least 100 feet off the ground, It’s a long way down! Is this something that you’ve always wanted to do?
Meteor Crater sounds like the stuff of science fiction; but, it’s real. It is the crater from a meteorite impact 50,000 years ago. The crater is almost 4,000 feet in diameter, 600 feet deep, and the rim is 150 feet above the desert floor. Nina saw this cool site on a field trip with her sixth grade class. If you live in Arizona, chances are you’ve been there. If you’ve always wanted to go and never have, then #289 is something that you’ll definitely want to put on your TO DO list!
Nina’s grandmother, her grand kids call her Grumpy, took all of us to Alaska for her 75th birthday in 2007! We had so much fun. One of the highlights was visiting a sled-dog summer training camp for the Iditarod. We learned about the dogs, their training, and about this iconic race. One of the most amazing experiences was riding in the summer training “sled”, being pulled by the team. Check out these pictures: Nina holding a future champion and the summer training ride. WOW! You might want to put going on a cruise to Alaska on your list. It’s cool!
Most people try to avoid jury duty, but doing her civic duty was on Nina’s list.

Nina was always on the move, and wanted to see everywhere. Have you ever travelled to the furthest corners of the US? If not, how far have you gone?
Nina seemed to always want to visit space. She wanted to be on the list for a tourist shuttle flight, defy gravity, or feel weightless.
