Nina sighted them from the deck of the icebreaker Lyubov Orlova, summer 2007. She was traveling with Students on Ice, celebrating the Polar Year. Baby, it’s cold outside! If you want to do something cool (literally and figuratively), consider putting this on your list! (In 2009, she also saw the Southern Lights from Ushuaia, in Tierra del Fuego, on her trip to Antarctica.)
#233 Conquer a fear
I don’t know what Nina was thinking when she crossed this off the list. Her friends always said she was fearless. Perhaps, she crossed it off when she held this giant tarantula or maybe when she and her brother Sandy ate these big deep fried critters off a street cart in China. Yuck! I get scared just thinking about either one of these. I bet you’ve a lot braver than I am. I’m sure that you’ve conquered fears in your life. So tell us what you did. We’d love to hear all about it!
