Nina, I wish I could ask you what you were thinking when you crossed this off your list. I can only guess: Stonehenge, the ocean of the Artic, a gothic cathedral, or the Lincoln Memorial. Perhaps, you were thinking about sitting under an umbrella at home in the front yard watching the rain come down, sticking your tongue out to catch the drops and shutting your eyes to smell that unmistakable fresh, rain-air. I hope those of you who decide to blog about your idea of a “Spiritual Place” on Nina’s List, can add your voice to my guesses, too.
There have been many placed I consider spiritual that I’ve been. The Wall in Washington, D.C. is one – Vietnam Memorial. Also, the last complete showing/exhibit of the full AIDS Memorial Quilt in D.C. There are places in Sedona I’ve felt strike me as incredibly spiritual, as was the southernmost point of the USA – the Green Sands Beach on the island of Hawaii…as was walking on the relatively fresh lava flow there, looking out over the Pacific. Na’ Pali Coast on Kauai, too. Bixby Beach along the Pacific Coast Highway…and John Muir Woods near Sausalito, CA. More come to mind.
