Although I am decidedly NOT a morning person, I have been persuaded to get up and hike through the dark hours in order to see the sunrise on a few mountain peaks over the years. These would include Mt. Whitney in CA, Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and a few peaks in the Alps during completion of The Tour du Mont Blanc. I can’t count Haleakala HI on this list because, despite getting up at 3 am, it turned out to be a rainy day with no sunrise. Thankfully, someone else checked this off the list for you, Nina.
